Hello, I have the following data coming out of my GPS "$GPGGA|111156.0|5151.4880|N|00518.7630|E|2|06|1.32|00"
The part 5151.4880, stands for 51 degrees and 51,4880 minutes latitude. The part after the decimal point, 4880, is in decimals. I believe this is standard NMEA 0183. I need the coordinates in decimal degrees for mapinfo. I have two options; 1;Use a part of the sample code Dmscnvrt.mb to calculate the coordinates. But this program needs the coordinates in degrees.minutes.seconds. Can someone think with me how to calculate the seconds. Is it as simple as multiply it with 3600? 2;Convert the minute part 51.4880 directly to decimal degrees. How do I do this? please help.
