Anyone encountered the following difference between MI Pro and MapExtreme? The display order for labels, which determines which labels get suppressed by the Overlapping Text control, is simply the order of objects in the file, and can be changed by sorting the file. In MapExtreme J, however, the display order seems to be different so that - as described below - I can't control which city names get suppressed. I have little towns displaying and big cities not.
In MapInfo Pro, I can sort a city file by population, descending, and the overlapping label suppression will suppress the labels for smaller cities and display the labels for larger cities. I use this sorted tab file in Mapextreme Java and it doesn't seem to work. Although the display order is different than before I sorted it, I am still getting larger city labels suppressed by smaller city labels. Anyone know what is going on?
