Thanks for all replies. The problem was that our IT department had "locked
down" our PC's and I couldn't even install a font into the font directory.
All is well now though!

You just install it in your fonts directory and that should work.
Note, by "install" you basically copy and paste it (in windows) to the fonts
directory.  Windows will realize you are adding a new font and will install
it.  You should see some progress bar showing you that it is installing.
Dos command copy won't work.  Then you should be able to choose it in
MapInfo.

Hi All, 
can anyone tell me how to make MapInfo look up a different symbol set? I
have been given a *.ttf file but when I open MapInfo I cannot find a way to
make it look for this file?
