Thanks for all replies. The problem was that our IT department had "locked down" our PC's and I couldn't even install a font into the font directory. All is well now though!

Note, by "install" you basically copy and paste it (in windows) to the fonts directory. Windows will realize you are adding a new font and will install it. You should see some progress bar showing you that it is installing. Dos command copy won't work. Then you should be able to choose it in MapInfo.
