Hello David,

I believe VTKDLL.DLL is a normal part of the current MapInfo Professional
and it looks like it was introduced from v6.0. Following the link to
www.kitware.com that you mentioned, it's described as an open source 3D
graphic toolkit.

Subject: MI-L Installed MI files "Vtkdll" is this one valid?

Greetins All,

With all the Badtrans talk it appears that one of the files it drops on the
users system may be "KDLL.DLL". Searching the Windows
registry I located a "VTKDLL.DLL" in the Mapinfo folder but the install log
doesn't indicate this as one of MI's files.

Can anyone confirm if this is a valid MI component, it appears clean of any
virus.

Specs on the VTKDLL.DLL file:
v3.20.9
Comments: Vtk library, OpenSource code at www.kitware.com.
Company Name: MapInfo Corp
Internal name: Vtkdll
Legal Trademarks: $
Product Name: MapInfo Corp Vtkdll
