Hi Folks;

I've stalled on trying to figure this one out and need some help.

I have a large database containing elevation steps (polygons) in 1000'
increments and want to change these to contours (lines). Simply converting
the polygons to lines won't work because I then end up with overlapping
contours of different elevations. (For example, a 2000' step would end up
having both an inner and outer line, each with a value of 2000'. The outer
line would identically overlap with a 1000' contour and the inner contour
would be identical to and overlap with a 3000' contour.)

How can I convert this polygon dataset to a line-based dataset without
having these overlapping lines of different values?

Please email your suggestions directly to me and I'll post a summary.

Thanks;

Ryan
