I'm new to the list and I've tried to search the old messages but frankly, I'm not sure what keywords to use to search for with this issue.
I downloaded some Datasets from the http://www.gisdatadepot.com/ website. (Precisely, the Ontario Road and Rail line files). The data was in ARC format and was no problem to convert and place in the NAD 27 Zone 17 projection that we commonly use. Since it is new data, I didn't expect it to line up with my other Ontario maps (which I could easily move around) but what has surprised me is that the maps are both apparently in different scales. The Road and Rail maps are not only really far south and west, it is incredibly small. To move this map, I only need to make it edittable in the layer, click it and scroll around. BUT does anyone know how I can take the one map, increase the size of it and then use it as a layer? It doesn't have to be precise but the more precise the better. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
