There seems to be no general agreement on what the name should be. Suggestions were: 1. Circles. See the list archives if you want a discussion on the mathematical argument for this. 2. Catchments. 3. Buffers. 4. Isopleths. A general name for lines of equal value of a variable. 5. Isolines. Ditto. 6. Isograms. Ditto. 7. Isarithms. Ditto. 8. Isodistances. Used in MI's Drivetime product. 9. Isocosts. 10. Isoeminus.
