I would confirm that with a precision: MI uses simply the order of the files
as Windows retrieves them. The order I get is the same with the MI function
tableinfo(i,TAB_INFO_NAME) with i=1 to numtables() and with the
GetFileNames() sub (on our site in the MapBasic Resource Center) that uses
the API calls of FindFirstFile, FindNextFile. They file names are in the
order of opening.

Nick

As far as I can tell, MI orders the tables in the dropdown list on the FIND
dialogue box in the order in which you opened the tables. Of course, the
only tables listed in the Find dropdown list are those that have at least
one indexed field.
