Sounds like she is a victim of upgradeidis.

When I upgraded from 6.0 to 6.5, such things as fonts and symbols were
placed not placed in the expected \Mapinfo X\symbols directory, but were
placed in C:\WINDOWS\Application
Data\MapInfo\MapInfo\Professional\650\CustSymb\*.BMP and similar to the
font file

If she's looking in the default folder, she maybe looking at different
symbols than MI. Within MI go to "Options" Preferences Directories to
fix this if it is the case.

Can anyone shed some light? When she looks in her custom labels
directory, all the bitmaps are still there.. they are just not showing
up in her maps....

Hey Jen, how's it going? I have a quick question for you. I have some
custom symbols in my custom symbols folder but when I am in MapInfo and
i go to Custom Symbols, there is nothing in there...now, when i open any
workspaces that have a certain custom symbol...they aren't there...it's
messed up a bunch of my maps. Have any ideas???

PLEASE!!

thanks,
