Hi Patrick, I have written something on the Malaysian RSO to the same list on 19 Jul 2000, at 11:22 hrs. The subject was MI RSO and NEI Projections. I think you can find the mail in the ML-Listing.
I am not so sure with respect to the "Peninsula" Malaysia RSO, as far as my understanding goes with my work on this system the RSO boundaries the following: North - Parallel of 8� N East - Meridian of 109� 30' E South - Parallel of 0� 50' N West - Meridian of 119� 30' E. The RSO system has the following parameters: Projection Type : Rectified Skew Orthomorphic Units of Coordinates : Metre Latitude of Origin : 004� 00' 00.0000" N Longitude of Origin : 115� 00' 00.0000" E Bearing of Initial Line (Alpha) : 053� 18' 56.9537" Skew to Rectified (Gamma) : 053� 07' 48.3685" Basic Longitude (Omega) : 109� 41' 07.8727" E False Easting at Origin : 590 476.87 m False Northing at Origin : 442 857.65 m Scale Factor at Origin : 0.99984 I have converted the original from Imperial feet to meters. Thus, when you asked for the azimuth, that is a bit of worried as RSO needs 3 "types" of orientation which is the alpha, gamma and omega. My suggestion is to call up JUPEM to confirm the parameters.
