Natural Neighbour regions (or Voronoi Diagrams) are easily created within
Vertical Mapper, by Northwood Technology (Now owned by Marconi). I use
Vertical Mapper extensively (An add-on for MapInfo) for digital terrain
mapping, which supports various interpolation methods such as triangulation,
inverse distance weighting, natural neighbour, rectangular, kriging and
custom point estimation. This software is a must in any GIS or engineering
shop. I hope this is what you were looking for.

MapBasic is one of the slowest langauges available and not well suited
for such a computation intensive task. But I can't think of anything
which should make it impossible. But you would have to stick to small
datasets since mapbasic only supports rather small datasets. Or perhaps
calculation time / lack of patience becomes the limiting factor.

Thiessen polygons are also known as Voronoi polygons or natural
neighborhood. You can find it included in ToolBox from RouteWare.

Kind regards
