Hello all at the list, here are my questions. I want to map areas of visibility from a geographical point, and present the results in MapInfo. I know that both Vertical Mapper and Maptitude have this functionality. My terrain data is UK ordnance survey 'Landform', which is available in .dxf format (& also .NTF) and comprises a rectangular grid of points defined by x,y & z co-ords in the UK ordnance survey metric grid system.
Does anybody know if either tool can handle data in this form? As .dxf I can also import into MapInfo, but can the z dimension be accessed for thematic use (hillshading)? Any views/experience on which of the above tools is the most effective? Any other tools which provide similar functionality and are MI compatible? I also use AutoCad Map (V, 5) has anyone come across applications which provide this functionality in that environment? Thanks in advance.
