Dear "Hospital GISers": I apologize for the cross postings -- Two items which should be of interest to GIS professionals who are employed by or doing work for hospitals and related organizations. First, there will be a "GIS by Hospitals" Special Interest Group get together at the upcoming ESRI User Conference in San Diego, on Tuesday evening July 9 from 7:15 to 9:00 p.m., following the Health User Group meeting which will take place from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. This will be a excellent opportunity for Hospital GISers attending the UC to meet and discuss matters of mutual interest. I will post more details when they become available.
Second, I anticipate that soon there will be a listserve established with its focus on GIS by Hospitals and Related Organizations. I will post more information when it becomes available. I would very interested in hearing from anyone around the world who is employed by or contracted by hospitals and related organizations and providing GIS expertise at the institutional, local, regional, state, national and/or international scales. If you share your information with me, I will agree to summarize the information and make it available to all contributors.
