To the list - To my knowledge, there ain't no way to zoom while you're digitizing.
If you use the wheel on a mouse to zoom while digitizing a multipoint object (ex. polyline or region), the contents of the mapper window is first updated, when you click on the mouse. That will generate a point at an unknown position, because you can't see where your mouse is placed after zooming. And you can't update the mapper window without clicking. Did anyone say "catch 22" ??. The same problem exist, if you use the reshape function after selecting an object. It's a bug introduced with the zoom feature (ver 5.0 ??). The bug still exist in ver. 7.0. regards Bo Thomsen -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Do Minh Phuong [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sendt: 2. juni 2002 10:45 Til: Steve Mc; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Emne: Re: MI-L Zooming while drawing polylines You'd better find a scrolled mouse. The third button can enable you to zoom in or out without difficulty. That's the only solution I've come up with over the years. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Baker" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, May 31, 2002 3:57 PM Subject: MI-L Zooming while drawing polylines Here's something that should be an easy answer, but darned if I can find it! I am drawing polylines, tracing over a raster image. Sometimes I need high detail so I can accurately follow the raster. Sometimes I don't want so much detail as I have a really long straight lines, and although the map scrolls automatically when I go past the edge, it still takes ages to get where I want to go. Is there any way to zoom in and out while in the middle of drawing a polyline without losing my place? Failing that, any way to continue drawing my polyline after pressing Escape & zooming to my new position? I know I can use Snap to get to where I left off and then maybe combine all the polylines into 1 at the end, but this sounds pretty tedious...
