You have reached the limits of MI internal precision. If you want to know
all about it, read http://www.paris-pc-gis.com/ppcc/intpreci.pdf. Even if I
wrote it for v.4.02, nothing has changed on the subject since then.

The fact is that MI stores coords as integers limiting them to 2 billion
distinct values for representing the range of a table (difference between
the mini and the maxi bounds}. In an unbounded un-projected fable, the "gain
size"" of the matrix is about 11 cm in latitude, cos(lat)*11 cm in
longitude. One can reduce it by specifying narrower bounds.

Subject: MI-L Points precision

Dear All,

We are trying to develop an application with MapInfo + Mapbasic. We are
facing a problem when trying to draw points symbols at a big scale. When we
click with the mouse to draw the point, it does not draw it at the right
place. They are all shifted to somewhere else like if the there is a
snapping mode on. The problem is that there are no graphics to snap to and
when we zoom out, we notice that the points have created some sort of grid.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem ?

You help is much appreciated.

Kindest regards.

Lyes
