Brian,

Bill Thoen wrote a simple but effective tool for importing *.met files
into mapinfo the mapinfo .tab file and then displaying it.. It seems to
still work with version 7.0. He provides a standard dlg *.met file to use
as a model to create standard for in text editor and source code. It is a
free download from:

http://www.directionsmag.com/tools/index.php?cat_id=10&product_id=&limit=25&p=5

Source code is included. I think there were several other efforts at tools
when this first came out. You can probably find it in the archive by
searching on metadata.

Hope this helps. What did you decide about mapXmobile?
