There is a confirmed memory leak issue with MapInfo 7.0 when using raster images. It is caused by window refresh events not releasing memory when panning and zooming raster images. This problem was present in the MI 7.0 beta and has made its way into the public release (build 22). MapInfo is aware of the issue (it was reported some time ago) and it has been forwarded to the development team for repair. We should see a patch released - hopefully soon!!
The problem occurs on all flavours of Windows OS and there is no work around that I know of. You will need to close MapInfo and restart it again to free the memory.
