I have some datum / projection questions that I hope some projection wiz will be able to clear up for me. They are only loosely related to MapInfo - I hope you don't mind.
1st - I have some topo sheets with the information given below. They are for Senegal, West Africa. They do not specify a datum - only projection and ellipsoid. I have read elsewhere that the national datum for Senegal is the Adindan datum. Can I assume that the datum for these topo sheets is Adindan? 2nd - The last line says the scale factor in the center of the map is either 1.0005 or 0.9999 (depending on the map). Do I have to account for this difference when I am setting iup my projections in MapInfo? 3rd - I have a map that uses Merchich Datum. It was later digitized using WGS84 - Zone 29N instead of Merchich. Is this going to be a problem? I don't have the original map. How can I undo this if it is a problem? Any ideas as to how I should approach this? Thanks for your help. Andrea Projection de Mercator Transverse Universelle (M.T.U.)
