Troy,

A while ago I managed to get a successful LIVE link between Mapinfo
and Access 2000.

For example, I could make coordinate changes directly in Access and
see the resultant changes in MI. I could also move a point in MI and
see the changes back in Access.

Three things to note:
--------------------
1. You can only have a LIVE link to an Access table (not a query).

2. Changes made in Access won't be reflected in your map window until
you
pan/zoom/redraw the window.

3. Set the ODBC refresh interval in Access. (Tools/Options/Advanced
tab)

Subject: MI-L Connecting to Live ODBC data and refreshing

I'm using MI 5.0 and having a heck of a time. I've connected to an
ODBC
Access database and would like to get live updates from it. I have
followed all the directions and occasionally can get a fire truck on
the
map and in the right spot. What I can't do is change the Lat/Lon in
the
access database and get the truck to move. I have unchecked the
Download
Data (Linked Table) box and have tried it with Cache checked and
unchecked.
I believe the Map Catalog was created correctly, but as I have no real
idea
of what I'm doing, I'm not really sure, so if anyone could give me a
few
pointers or a bit of advice, I could really use it.

Thanks,
Troy
