Is there a rationale for this that we can determine? Is there a logical reason (ie. computational speed, user requirements) why MapInfo is not using spherical geometry in its calculations?
On a separate topic but along the same lines...is there someone out there who knows to what positional accuracy the coordinate geometry of a MapInfo object is stored (32 Bit floating points, 64 Bit double-precision)? - Ian Erickson ----- Original Message ----- From: "Warren Vick, Europa Technologies Ltd." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "MapInfo-L" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, August 09, 2002 10:55 AM Subject: RE: MI-L Voronoi in MIPro 7.0 > Hello Bill, > > There seems to be several instances in Pro (or MapInfo technology in > general) where true spherical geometry is not used.
