Hi,
In Access the length of a text field is from 0 to 255 characters but in
MapInfo it is 1 to 254 characters.
If you open an Access table in MapInfo (using ODBC) all text fields that
are defined at 255 characters are opened as Read-Only. Fields that are
254 characters or less in length are editable (assuming that all
requirements for editable ODBC tables are met).
Why is there an inconsistency between Access & MapInfo's text fields and
how can I make a 255 character field in Access editable in MapInfo (and
please don't tell me to make them 254 chars) ?
