will this do what you want??

        "Create Object As ConvexHull From Selection Into Table Whatever"
(table must be open)

then you can select that object, convert to polylines, then smooth
polylines, and you'll have a nice roundy looking thing around your objects
(may not enclose extremety objects due to smoothing, just enlarge object)
