New Map-In-A-Box Product Makes Desktop Mapping More User-Friendly and
Productive.
Allows MapInfo Professional Users to fully use MapPoint 2002 data and
functionality.
East Lansing,MI-- Mapping Solutions LLC today unveiled Map-In-A-Box for
MapInfo Professional. This new product gives MapInfo Professional users a
low-cost solution for street data, geocoding and drive time creation. Now
available, Map-In-A-Box software enables MapInfo Professional users to take
full advantage of the data and functionality available within MapPoint 2002
to enhance their spatial experience.
Map-In-A-Box integrates the following MapPoint 2002 functionality seamlessly
into MapInfo Professional:
1. Street level data, available within MapPoint 2002, can be viewed
directly within MapInfo Professional. Anytime the map is changed by panning
and zooming the street level data is automatically refreshed. Multiple
windows of different MapPoint map styles can be displayed.
2. Street-level geocoding.
3. Drive-time analysis.
4. Address search and lookup
5. Map 'information tool'.
David Langley, Director of Programming Services and chief architect of the
product said. "We believe the MapInfo Professional and MapPoint products
complement each other extremely well. MapInfo Professional software is the
industry leader in desktop mapping with vast spatial analysis functionality
built into the software. However, it lacks such things as street level data,
street level geocoding and drive time analysis which have to be purchased
separately. On the other hand MapPoint includes vast amount of street level
data and includes a good geocoding and drive time engine in the
shrink-wrapped product. The integration of these products was a natural
progression and we have been demonstrating it to our prospects and current
users already, and the reception is extremely positive."
Currently it is only available for North American although a Pan European
version will be available soon.
