Jose Depending on what sort of edits you are doing.. When you are editing a table MapInfo creates a series of locking files (Mytable.tda, mytable.tin, mytable.tma). These contain your edits and are only committed to the table when you hit save. Whilst these files exist no other user can edit the table, MapInfo will give them an error message.
If you need to just edit attributes I'd investigate GUIplus from spatialplus www.spatialplus.com It allows this sort of thing to be done by multiple users. If you are editing objects then i would be very very careful. Multiple users editing a table is very difficult to manage and the possibility of losing edits as well as corrupting the whole table is quite high. Also if someone crashes out mid edit then the locking files are not removed and no one can edit the table until they are removed. In this situation you may need to reboot the machine or the server the files are on in order to "release" them so they can be deleted. If you can then split the table into different chunks to allow edits to take place then do so. If not then the next step is to go to Spatialware with SQL server or ORACLE etc. Hope this helps Jonathan > -----Original Message----- > From: Jose Ramon Castro [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: 08 October 2002 15:22 > To: Lista MapInfo > Subject: MI-L editing problem > > Hi Listers > > Can I edit the same table from 2 diferent computers?
