Lars,

Thanks for the reply. I'd looked briefly at the GeoTrack component, but the cost initially put me off. Since all users will already have Mapinfo, I thought I might be able to avoid the cost by using the limited version built into Mapinfo - but I suppose you get what you pay for.

Hi Matt,

The GeoTrack that comes free with MIPro is off course somewhat limited wrt. possible applications. The free GeoTrack "server" is a
standalone EXE running in the background, feeding the GeoTrack.mbx running inside MIPro. This is probably bothersome to get working
in a VB driven setup.

The better option is to purchase the GeoTrack DLL/ActiveX component from its vendor, Blue Marble Geographics:

This is off course not free, so I guess it comes down to a question of using your time or your money to get it up and running :-)

Subject: MI-L GPS/Geotracker

Does anyone have any experience using the Geotracker app from a mapinfo
window in VB?

I can get it working fine and communicating with the GPS within Mapinfo,
but I am trying to work out if it's possible to use it within a VB
which uses a Mapinfo object, and if so, how to do so.

Any advice appreciated.

TIA,

Matt
