With the holidays coming up, I just wanted to remind everyone how you should handle your subscription to MapInfo-L when you are going to be "Out of Office." What you should NOT do is have your e-mail respond to everyone who posts a message to MapInfo-L mindlessly announcing that you are on vacation and out of the office. People who do that will be dropped from MapInfo-L.
The preferred method for vacationers is just to unsubscribe from the list, then resubscribe when they return. Information on how to unsubscribe is at the bottom of every MapInfo-L message, or you can get it from http://nt1.directionsmag.com/mapinfo-l/. When you're ready to go on vacation and unsubscribe from the list, take note of the message number from the last post you received. This number is located in the header and at the bottom of each message. In you don't see it at the bottom of the message body, look at the first line in the email headers--it's the number right before your email address. When you get back from vacation resubscribe yourself. Wait for a new message to come in then take note of the message number. Now you have a range--the message number before you left and when you returned.
