I think that with at least 6.5 the only unit available for saving a layout
in a workspace is "in". This was discussed long time ago and never got the
attention (or rather the action it requires) of MI.

Subject: MI-L Workspace Units

Hi all

I have a problem getting MapInfo 6.5 to accept that I wan't the units of my
saved workspaces to be "cm" (Centimetres) and not "in".

I have been through every setting in MapInfo with no luck. When I
doubleclick a frame in my layoutwindow I get the size in "cm" but when I
save the workspace and edit it with textpad it is in inces!

I have tried:

Set Paper Units "cm" before saving a workspace with one mapper and a layout
but MapInfo still writes the workspace units in inces.

Please advice.
