Close MapInfo.

Open the .tab file of the table you are trying to check with notepad.

Change the !version to 400 or 300.

Then save.

Now run MapInfo and open your table and run mapcheck on it again.

Subject: MI-L MapCheck errors

Hello Mappers,

I'm having a perplexing problem using MapCheck. I haven't had too
much experience with the utility but I have used it on occasion
without problem and found it useful in detecting potential issues
with files.

Today I started getting an error indicating that MapCheck is unable
to open files to read. I can't think of many things to try; I've
restarted MapInfo, restarted the computer, reinstalled MapCheck to no
avail. The files open just fine in MapInfo. I get the error even
when tested using a file, at the same location, that MapCheck could
inspect last week.

Any suggestions? MI version 7/Win2000.

Declan
