Hi James

There is the Arc/Info ASCII Grid which corresponds to the Matrix that 
Vertical Mapper exports as a text file if this helps. The format is 
pretty simple:

ncols          177
nrows          169
xllcorner      626800.00000000
yllcorner      156600.00000000
cellsize       50.00000000
NODATA_value  -9999
... followed by the data in a matrix as specified above.
