With Windows2000pro, my MapInfo 7,0 would crash on opening with either an "unable to initiate graph engine" or an "Instruction at 0x784a8f11...memory could not be written" error message. I also found out that new user account would still work on my computer for a while, ...until I started to install LAN printers. The solution is to delete all the printers of the account and reinstall the postscript versions of the drivers. Hope this help someone, I spent days searching for a solution.
