One way is to use ECW and an Image Web Server - it's fast and removes a lot of the load on servers, network and clients.
Mapinfo and MapXtreame can read a TAB file, which is referencing an URL pointing to the ECW image on the server and there is an ArcXML integrator for the ESRI side Try to look at it at http://www.ermapper.com/ (and the next version will also support WMS distribution) Ole Gregor, Udviklingskonsulent i Milj og Teknik Viborg Amt (45) 87 27 13 07 |---------+---------------------------------------> | | Paul Barnett | | | <[EMAIL PROTECTED]| | | igence.net> | | | | | | 11-08-2003 01:46 | | | | |---------+---------------------------------------> >-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | | | Til: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | cc: | | Vedr.: MI-L how to store raster... database? | >-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| Hi all, Apologies if this issue has been discussed as i have only recently joined the list. I would like to know your recommendation (or options?) for the best way to store layers for use in a mixed environment (MapInfo, MapXtreme and ESRI products). I can use Oracle as we have version 9i (spatial), but i haven't been able to find out a lot about storing rasters in this way or even if it is appropriate? Thanks in Advance!
