Hi Ross,

I have also noticed this from time to time while using MI7.0. I'm surprised
because the translator has always been bullet-proof. Aside from the
obvious, like your hard drive is full, I suspect there are objects that do
not have data associated with them in the table. This phenomena seems to
confuse the translator, though how objects are showing up without data in
the first place is beyond me. Anyone else have any clues?

Subject: MI-L ESRI Shape File Translation

All,

I am trying to use MI Pro v7.0 and the Universal Translator to translate a
bunch of ESRI Shape files (shp, shx, and dbf) into MapInfo. When I try to
translate, I keep getting the message "translation failed". This is the
first time I've run into this error.... any suggestions?

Thanks!
