Ross,

The Universal Translator writes a log file to location that the user can specify on
the main dialog box. I've opened this file with a text editor before and found clues
about why a translation failed, including references to problematic records.

Subject: MI-L ESRI Shape File Translation

All,

I am trying to use MI Pro v7.0 and the Universal Translator to translate a
bunch of ESRI Shape files (shp, shx, and dbf) into MapInfo. When I try to
translate, I keep getting the message "translation failed". This is the
first time I've run into this error.... any suggestions?

Thanks!
