I ll try Anrew tip with the row count first. To get a better insight, I ll trace the session MI creates on the database and post the results. That might give us more clues what is going wrong and possibly how to get arround it. (eg I can think of twisting the bounds for the spatial query into a view, so that MI is not even aware that there is more data than the bit that fits into the current window). Regarding the Oracle support: 8.1.7 is desupported soon. So switch to 9i or 9.2. There is no urgend need to use 10g (which is not out yet by the way).
