Yes - you have to query out all the results and SortBy the column you are thematically mapping. Add that Query table to the layer control instead of the base table, then make your thematic map on that. This ensures your drawing order is guaranteed. You are correct in assuming that MI doesn't draw in the order specified in the base table - it's one of those mystical mysteries of the application. Hope that helps, Jason

I want to create a thematic map that shows the layer from smallest object on top to biggest object on the bottom. It seems as though no matter what order the objects are in the table, Mapinfo seems to have its own internal way of ordering the objects within a thematic map. Is there any tricks or utilities that will allow me to thematic my layer in order of smallest (on top) to biggest(on bottom) > Regards > > Peter Doyle > TELSTRA > Infrastructure Services > Mobile Network Services, Qld > Geographical Analysis & Data > +61 7 38871128 > Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 8981 --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 8986
