Just a few quick thoughts The hard way is to not use thematic map, but create a separate query for each condition (select smallest to largest), set the display for each query, then use layer control to achieve the final display order objective.
I believe the display order is controlled by the order of the records in the source TAB file, first in first out kind of logic. You would need to re-order the records according to your criteria. This brings us back to query.... An alternative might be, I haven't tried this, perform the six queries then concatenate the outputs in the desired display order. Then you should be able to use thematic map. -----Original Message----- From: Doyle, Peter W [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, October 30, 2003 07:54 PM To: Mapinfo-L (E-mail) Subject: MI-L Reordering objects in a thematic map Greetings list, I have a single layer with 6 overlaying objects object 1 is the biggest down to object 6 the smallest. I want to create a thematic map that shows the layer from smallest object on top to biggest object on the bottom. It seems as though no matter what order the objects are in the table, Mapinfo seems to have its own internal way of ordering the objects within a thematic map. Is there any tricks or utilities that will allow me to thematic my layer in order of smallest (on top) to biggest(on bottom) > Regards > > Peter Doyle > TELSTRA > Infrastructure Services > Mobile Network Services, Qld > Geographical Analysis & Data > +61 7 38871128 > Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 8981 --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 8990
