Hi

I have used ER Mapper for this type of raster editing operation - in it you can draw a
polygon around the tile areas you want to clip, you can set the null pixels to any
value from 0-255 (to make it a specific shade of grey or a colour that isnt in the
image), then make pixels of that value invisible in MI Pro. http://www.ermapper.com/

You can sucessfully mosaic raster images as well, clipped to hand drawn polygons per
image in the mosaic to allow you to write a GeoTIFF of the whole mosaic.

I generally use .ecw files tho as they are much smaller - from the ER Mapper
website... "

MapInfo Professional version 6.0 includes native support for ECW v2.0 imagery. MapInfo
Professional is the industry's leading business software for visualizing and analyzing
data from a geographic perspective."

Hope that is some help

Greg

I'm fairly new at working with editing geotiff images, and I have a
question regarding "clipping" them to geographic boundaries:

I need to make all the pixels in the geotiff that fall outside a vector
boundary a uniform color, such as black. What software can I use to do
this?
