"Display Global": MapInfo uses the style defined as an override style, which can be controlled in the layer control by doubleclicking a layer, checking the "Style override" checkbox and choose the style in the displayed button(s). This also means that every object has the same style. "Display Graphic" : MapInfo uses the style saved on each single object in the table. So objects don't nessessary have the same style.
