I have a problem that may have a simple answer but has me stumped. Hope y'all can help. I'm trying to update a field "Pop00" in a region know as "Ring" from a point file named "Ak_points". The "AK_points" file is several point locations based on lat/lons of block group centroids where I'm trying to sum the centroids within the ring using the following Mapbasic command. It just ain't working. Any hints?
Add Column "Ring" (Pop00 )From ak_points Set To sum(Pop00) Where contains Both Pop00 field are Dec(10,0), I've indexed the ak_point Pop00 field and even tried converting the Ring file to Regions under Objects\Convert to Regions.
