Nobody replied because the question is so easy, yet so hard.  Namely, to
display parks as patches you need to know the shape and size of the park
in question.  You may look it up in public cadastral database or
something along these lines - people usually do not make it easy (that
is the hard part).  Now the easy part, adding it to your landmarks
table.  There are 2 ways, depending on what you got.  One is to draw the
park,  the other to insert it.
To draw:
Select park from your table.
Browse selection.  Add selection to Mapper and make it editable.  Under
Objects menu, do "Clear map objects only" - that will disappear the
icon.  Then, keeping the browser selected, draw park of required shape
with the polygon tool. Presto!

To insert;
Assumes that you have some kind of MapInfo-compatible electronic data to
copy from.  Cntl C/ Cntl V will do it, with your landmarks table made
editable.  Then browse the selection and enter the correct data.
