Hi Terry!

Try thinking the other way around, let the click open your dialog (picking
up the location first), then collect the user input and then finish off by
creating your point and populate the attribute table.
And don't forget to commit (update) the table with the new point.

Hlsning/ Best regards Mats.E

MI-L Reacting to the User Creating Points

Hi, List

Again, I'm fairly new to MapBasic but used to the concept of reacting to
system events. I want my users to be able to create bus stop locations.
Thus they can click anywhere on the map, to create and position a bus
stop, and MI reacts with, say, a dialog by which they identify the stop.

Now I know you can issue a "Create Point" or "CreatePoint()", to
programmatically plot, say, existing bus stops, but I can't find
anywhere in the docn about system event handlers, whereby you could
achieve what I outlined above.

Can anyone please give me some . pointers as to how to do this.

TIA

Terry
