Thanks for all the answers but I found the solution I was looking for myself...
 
I have created a new tab file calling my original file - works like a mini workspace...
 
content of file2.tab: ( line with Hide is optional)
 
 
!Table
!Version 100
Open Table "file1" Hide
map From file1
set window frontwindow() max
Browse * From file1
set window frontwindow() max
