Hi Matt, While agreeing with what Paul Crisp says, I don't think the Enterprise line of products (SpatialWare etc.) is a direct replacement for something like Personal Geodatabase. I've often opted for some official "package format" for MapInfo, preferably one that might even be protected/encrypted somehow on a low level to ensure viewing access without access to the files themselves.
Although MySQL and PostgreSQL are both open source, and thus without a price tag, and both posess some enterprise-like spatial capabilities, there's still a lot of administration involved. The perfect package format for MapInfo Pro would be one that is completely supported inside Pro, requiring no external installations and/or setup. But thinking out loud, aren't several tools to treat ZIP's as folders more-or-less freely available ? That would package the files in a single file, while keeping access to the original 4-5 files for Pro. I'm running W2K but isn't this part of XP already ? Even if it's not, although it requires some installation it ought to be fairly limited Best regards/Med venlig hilsen Lars V.
