Hi Ryan! There are two steps inolved here
1 Convert the jpg to tif This can be done with any image editor that supports the formats, for instance Windows Photo Editor. Another approach is to see if the scanning software supports tif in which case may give better results. NB Tif comes in many flavors - testing is required. 2 Add georeferencing info to the tif file This can be done with the free GeoTiffExaminer from www.mentorsoftwareinc.com (look under freebies at left) This is a most usefult tool to wiew, add or edit georeferencing information to a tif and corresponding world file. NB it does not handle rotated tif files and cannot read or write tab files. See the short but to the point help file for how to use GeoTiffExaminer In any case, you must provide the necessary georeferencing information yourself. No software in the world can georeference image files automatically (even if many ask for that kind of magic).
