Greg,

For worldwide use, WGS84 is the preferred "standard." For all non-defence
related GIS applications for all of Australia, the preferred "standard" is
GDA94 because it is the legal standard for Australia.

Except for sub-centimeter level geodetic esoterica, the two are identical.

Note that these are datums and are NOT projections. If you don't know the
difference, read my stuff at the "ASPRS" website listed below my signature
block.

Can anyone tell me the difference (geographically or other) between GDA
94 and WGS 84 map projections?

Is there a universal standard preferred?
