John:

Set your coordinate system to your UK grid.

Open your MapBasic window

Enter the following:    set coordsys table <your table name without
extension> <enter>

- MapInfo is returning lats and longs

- you may have to adjust table definitions to allow sufficient for grid
coordinates (e.g., if coordsys returns something like 999999.99

I'm a new MapInfo user. I have previously been using CentroidX for Eastings
& CentroidY for Northings in tables without problems. Having now changed my
machine and reloaded MapInfo, the results are given as eight figure
references with a decimal point after the first six. Is there a setting
which limits the number of significant figures?
