In the TAB file there is a sentence "RasterStyle 6 1", removing which
makes MIG unreadable by MapInfo. What is the meaning of the RasterStyle
clause?
<<<<<<<<<<

this tells Mapinfo that the image is a grid rather than just a 'dumb' raster.

I find it a very handy little sentence....adding this line of code to the tab file of
a vertical mapper generated grid will suddenly make that VM grid appear in Mapinfo
without the need for the VM plugin, also you can then use mapinfos 3d window to view
it and Mapinfos info tool to interrogate it....unfortunately is does stop VM's grid
manager from performing certain tasks on teh grid, but I get around this by having two
versions of the tab file pointingto the same grid.
