Not possible to do with MapInfo alone, you must use some of grid add-ons,
such as Grid Analyser or Vertical Mapper.

Dear All,
I have a table of points with some values, from this I make a grid
thematic
map.
I have a table of polygons/regions,
If I superimpose the polygon layer over the thematic map I can see the
different color shading on each polygon, based on the values of grid
thematic map.
I want to count the number of polygons which are in some specific range
of
values. say number of polygons whose center has the value between 45 -55,
55-65.... or number of regions with atleast 30% of the area is in the
range
45-55, 55-65 .......
Can I assign a value to each region/polygon based on its center point and
the corresponding value in the grid thematic map
Is this possible using MapInfo.
I donnot want to manually check each polygon.
Any suggestions related to the above problem will be appreciated.
Looking forward for a kind reply
with regards,
ashish

Those are not the prettiest examples of these cartograms, there are much
cooler ones out there. I'm just looking for another way to show data in
an eye-catching manner.

Does MI feature the ability to create value by area cartograms such as
the ones at this link:

pretty cool way to thematicize but I've never seen the thematic tool
to
do this in MI.
I've never heard of a tool for mI that can do this, but why would you
want
such a map? Some of the states become so nrecognizable I'm not sure that
this method communicates information as well as some of the other
thematic
presentations.
