I just changed my preferences for display in Windows, but I like this
suggestion better. Creates the background colour for maps at the same time.

For all our maps we have a bottom layer of ocean.tab which just consists of
a WGS-84
map of the entire world +/-180 and +/-90 as a rectangle.

We colour the map in the table a nice light blue and use that as the base
layer for any
maps we create.

It has another advantage as it is the first layer, and is WGS-84, so if
anyone brings in
other tables on top, the whole map is still in WGS-84 which is what our
application
(GPS tracking) requires.
