This would be a most welcome utility. It's a shame something like this hasn't been added to Workspace Control by 4th Beach (at least I don't think it will do this).
Too as iterated by Dan, it would nice if your utility could search through the Directories designated in Mapinfo for the file, then offer the user to "Use this file instead" or "Remove this layer from the Workspace?" A utility like this sure would be usefull!
